Mark Workman begins his fourth year at Brown this season. The head coach at St. Scholastica for six seasons, Workman adds a great deal of experience and knowledge to the Bears' program.

After serving as the assistant coach at his alma mater, St. Scholastica, from 1993-1995, Workman was the head coach for St. Scholastica for six seasons, during which time he guided his team to a 37-118-3 record. He coached five All-League Players in six years and also had 45 All-Academic players. Workman has also served as an NCAA representative at the 2000 and 2001 Division III Men's Ice Hockey Quarterfinal Games, and on the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey West Region Ranking Committee from 1998-2001.

During the summer of 2004, Workman was a head coach at the US Select 14 Festival, his fourth year of involvement in the Festival. He assisted Danny Brooks during the summer of 2003, helping to guide their team to a silver medal, after serving as an assistant coach for the first two years of the Festival's existence.

Workman also coached a fall "AAA" Midget team in Duluth, Minnesota, and did part-time scouting for the Chicago Steel, of the USHL. While in Duluth, Workman helped to write scouting reports on the opposition of Minnesota-Duluth during the 2001-2002 season.

Workman was a four-year varsity player at St. Scholastica, serving as the team's Assistant Captain as a junior and as the Captain as a senior in 1993. He earned the team's Most Improved Player Award in 1992 and the Coaches' Award in 1993, while playing in 105 of 107 games, including 105 consecutive contests, on the blueline.

Workman, 36, received a B.A. in Exercise Science from the College of St. Scholastica in 1993. A native of Stillwater, Minnesota, he resides in East Providence.
